New Paperchase Store - Glasgow

If you live in Glasgow I'm sure you're already aware of the new Buchanan Quarter shopping area. Plenty of big names have opened up there, including Forever 21, Vans, Office and Gap. For a stationery lover like me, the arrival of a huge Paperchase store caused a great deal of excitement. I went in today and took some photos for you all. Sorry that the quality isn't the best - I had to use my phone camera as I didn't have my proper one with me!

Review | Side Effects

Last weekend my boyfriend and I went to see Side Effects (starring Rooney Mara, Jude Law, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Channing Tatum) at Cineworld in Glasgow. The film, directed by Steven Soderbergh, is a thriller full of twists and turns, and will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

It focusses on Rooney Mara's character Emily, who suffers from depression and whose husband Martin (Tatum) is in prison. She is prescribed a new drug called Ablixa by her psychiatrist Jonathan (Law) which has adverse side effects which no one could ever have expected.

Don't let the mental health subject matter put you off here (if that kind of thing normally does). My boyfriend thought it was going to be depressing but he was pleasantly surprised. This is not a film about depression; that is just a sub-text for a much bigger story.

This a film which will keep you guessing the whole way through, and will no doubt have some shocks in store, too.

I would highly recommend Side Effects if you're looking for a clever, sophisticated film that will keep you entertained for the whole 106 minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed it, so if you go see it, let me know what you thought!

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! For a little bit about me, click here.

I'd been thinking of setting up a blog for months and now I've finally got around to it! One of the main things that stopped me before was that I couldn't decide what I wanted it to be about. I thought to myself, I want to write about fashion and beauty, but also about how to live well on a student budget. I also want to write about interesting places that I find - amazing restaurants and cool bars, as well as crafty ideas and inspiration. I'm the most indecisive person ever so I just couldn't choose which of these to write about on my blog. Then I simply thought, "why not write about them all?" I don't want to limit myself or pigeon-hole my blog as this would limit my possible readership and I would get bored really quickly.

So now I present to you my mish-mash of a blog - it's going to be a mix-up of everything that inspires me, and hopefully that means there will be something for everyone. I hope you enjoy the things I post - please leave a comment letting me know if you do!
