Life Update

Hello everyone!

So you may have noticed that I've been a bit absent on my blog recently, and for that I do apologise. To be completely honest, I lost my motivation a little bit and wasn't very inspired. I haven't been feeling too well recently so maybe that's why. I never want to force myself to write because then I won't produce my best work and I don't want to take the fun out of blogging.

To ease myself back in, I thought I'd give you all a little life update. My best friend Lauren spent her summer in New Jersey doing Camp America and she finally came home on Tuesday! I met her at the airport and was so happy to see her again after 11 weeks - I missed her so much so it's great to have her home.

I was working on Friday and afterwards Adam and I had a wee night out. We went to Cocktail & Burger for, yes, cocktails and burgers. It was the first time either of us had been and we both really enjoyed it. They cook "proper burgers" - Aberdeen Angus and freshly made to order. They were cooked medium rare so were quite pink in the middle; I've never had a burger like that before but, oh my, it tastes so much nicer that way! It was definitely one of the best burgers I've tried - I was very impressed. The cocktails were lovely too - I had a French Martini while Adam went for a Mint Aero. It had vodka, menthe and cocoa in it and really did taste just like the chocolate bar! The staff were all lovely too so I'll definitely be returning. Let me know in the comments if you'd like to see a full review of the restaurant.

We then headed To Hummingbird for more cocktails. I've been dying to visit here for so long and I wasn't disappointed. Their cocktails are half price through the week so most only cost around £3 which is a total bargain. I had a Lemon Bon Bon which was amazing. I can't remember the name of Adam's as it was quite long but it had vanilla and blueberries in. The décor is just beautiful in Hummingbird - it's such a gorgeous bar. There were lots of quirky touches like teapots with candles inside, a bookshelf and bird cages hanging from the ceiling. I will 100% be back here as I absolutely loved it! Again, let me know if you'd like to see a full review.

Lastly, we went to Bloc + which is a cool little bar in Bath St, playing all kinds of rock and alternative music so it was right up my alley! In terms of the interior, it wasn't as nice as the other two places as it looks much more student-y but I still liked it and imagine I'll be back there too.

Adam and I have also started watching Breaking Bad recently. I know we're way behind in jumping on that bandwagon but Adam ordered the box set two weeks ago and we're on the second series already. I understand why it's been hyped up so much - we're both hooked! It's so well-made and the storyline is gripping, so I'm really enjoying it. Staying away from online spoilers is proving to be very difficult though!

Today, I had a pretty lazy Sunday but I did list some things on eBay. Click here to see the selection of clothes - many are brand new!

I'll hopefully be getting back into the swing of things with my blog now and should be back to posting regularly. Don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' for all updates. If you have any requests for posts you'd like to see, just tell me in the comments below and I'll try to get it done for you!

What have you been up to recently? Do you watch Breaking Bad?
