Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation | Review

Smashbox Liquid Halo Foundation

Last week I went to the Smashbox counter at Boots with the intention of only buying one of their primers... I ended up with foundation, primer and one of their kits - oops!

The manager of the counter told me about their newest foundation - the Liquid Halo HD - and tried it on my face. Straight away I realised that, colour-wise, it was a much better match for me than my current foundation. It felt really nice on my skin too so I ended up buying it.

It's the first ever foundation with "100% Liquid Light Technology" which aims to even out the skin, give it a luminous finish and blur imperfections. It was designed to look great in photos, and who doesn't want that?

It also has a colour match technology so it adapts to your skin to give you the most natural colour. If  you're super pale like me and find it hard to get light enough foundations, try this! It really is pale enough for me, without making me look washed out. There are ten shades so I think it gives quite a good range of colours.

It is a medium coverage foundation, which is the only thing I'm not 100% happy about. I prefer a full coverage, but this is buildable so  if you need a bit more help in some areas of your face, there's no need to worry! I apply it with my Real Techniques stippling brush and find this gives a really nice finish.

It applies really nicely and feels smooth on the skin. Once applied, it doesn't feel heavy at all, and it almost feels like you're not wearing any make-up, so it's comfortable to have on for the whole day. On that note, I've found that it lasts really well and I rarely need to do any touch-ups. This could also be due to using their primer though, so make sure you have a good base underneath it for maximum staying power!

So far, I'm very happy with this foundation and I think it may become my new favourite! I would like it more if it had a fuller coverage , but everything else about it is lovely so I'd really recommend it. It has SPF 15 and for £27.50 you get 30ml of product. I don't use a lot on each application so I think it would last quite a while.

Have you tried this foundation? What other Smashbox products do you love?
