European Travel Diary #1

Adam and I have decided to go inter-railing this summer, which means that we'll buy a pass which lets us go on any train in Europe in 22 days. I'm so, so excited about it - it's going to be an amazing adventure and I'll get to visit loads of places I've never seen before.

Since it's all very exciting, I thought I'd share it with you all so I've started this series and will blog about every step of our adventure, such as planning, packing and of course the journey itself. We won't be going til around July but there's lots of planning involved so I thought I'd start the series now.

So far, I've bought a lovely notebook from Paperchase to do all the planning in (with a matching pen of course). We started by writing down all the cities we were interested in, then done some research into each place as we had to narrow the list down a lot. This is one of the most important stages in the planning as it's deciding where we're actually going to go so it's taken a good few weeks. This isn't 100% but we've pretty much decided on our list of cities now:

  • Amsterdam
  • Brussels
  • Paris
  • Zurich
  • Rome
  • Vienna
  • Prague
  • Berlin
  • Copenhagen
  • Stockholm

If you have visited/live in any of these cities, I'd really appreciate some tips on things to do and places to visit so please let me know in the comments! The next steps for us will be to plan our route and then do more research into each city and decide what we want to do/see when we're there.

Hopefully you've found this post interesting and I'll update you when we've done some more planning!

Have you been inter-railing? Share your advice!
