La La Land started off in 2010 as a small boutique in the
West End of Glasgow, selling founder Sarah Graham’s favourite independent
labels. In 2014 La La Land became an online-only store, selling quirky and cute
designs.
Last month, La La Land launched their first own-label
collection in collaboration with Scottish artist Kirsty Baynham of Prism of Starlings.
The collection is in three parts – Basics, Luxe and
Embellish. The Basics range is out now and features bodysuits, sweaters,
vests, t-shirts and bags, all with distinctive animal designs from Prism of
Starlings. Oh, and did I mention there are crowns in the range? CROWNS. I want.
The prints on each item are all animal-inspired with a
geometric design and are so, so pretty. The Fox Cameo is probably my
favourite design, but the Hexagonal Horses is just beautiful!
The Luxe range will launch next month and will feature
dresses, tailored tops and bottoms. Following that will be the Embellish range,
with jewellery inspired by Kilmardinny Loch in Bearsden, the location of the
Basics photo shoot.
I get so excited by talented Scottish designers and it's great to see such beautiful collections coming from my home city. I know this collection is going to be a huge success so if you want to get your hands on any of the pieces I'd act fast. I'll race you to the Forest Queen crown!
