Life Update #3

Life Update Shannon Darko

So once again I have taken an unexpected absence from the blog and for that I do apologise. It's just been for the usual reasons really - uni is stressful! I thought I'd let you all know what I've been up to then we'll be back to regular programming, with a few little updates!

At the start of last month I went to see Chvrches and my review of the gig will be in the next issue of The Banter magazine or you can read it online now. Soon after I saw Russell Howard live and it was hilarious, as I expected. It was the first time I had been to a live stand up show and I really enjoyed it.  I also saw Fall Out Boy this month and oh my, it was the best gig I've ever been to. Fall Out Boy have been my favourite band since I was 11 so it was a very special night and I was quite emotional!

At the end of March I was asked to be the photographer at the Water Aid charity ball. I done it last year too and was so pleased to be asked back again, especially for such a worthwhile cause. You can see my photos on their facebook page.

After that was Adam's birthday - we had a lovely night in and his mum made his favourite dinner and baked him a cute birthday cake. We then went out the following Saturday night to celebrate. We had an amazing dinner in Cocktail & Burger - I'd highly recommend it! We then went out for drinks and dancing but ended up in a bit of a silly situation because we forgot the clocks went forward and therefore missed the last night bus home. I'm still mourning the loss of the £18 for the taxi!

This week, Adam and I stayed in Edinburgh for a night as I bought him a stay in the lovely No.11 Hotel as a Christmas present. The hotel was beautiful and we had afternoon tea when we got there then a three course meal later on after a wander around the city. That night we went on a really creepy ghost tour which was so much fun then headed out for drinks. The next day, we visited the castle and got to see the amazing crown jewels but we weren't allowed to take photos :(

After a stressful week trying to get a big essay finished, I got a night off last night at a birthday party in Glasgow. It was so nice to get dressed up as I've spent most of the week looking like a tramp in the library!

Today was the first Sunday I've had off in about six months so I enjoyed having a relaxing day for once! I put some clothes on Depop to help me fund my inter-railing trip (click here to read about that). Please take a look and give me a follow - I'll follow back and hopefully you'll like my clothes! I'll be adding more things over the next few weeks too. My username is shannondarko and here's a link to my profile.

This post was a bit more rambly than I intended but it's nice to have a chat sometimes isn't it? I'm in the process of developing a new schedule for my blog so I'll let you know about that when it's sorted. I also have a review of a cosmetic product and a jewelry haul coming up so look out for those! If you haven't already, I'd appreciate if you followed me on Bloglovin'.

What have you been up to recently? Let's have a chat!
