This is just a casual OOTD and is the kind of outfit I wear most days as it's comfortable but still looks good.

I apologise if the image quality is not 100% - my camera battery died so these were taken on Adam's ipad. On that note, thank you to Adam for being my lovely photographer!

My Week In Photos #13

1. I had my last exam of the year on Monday and my summer finally began!
2. Adam took me out for dinner to celebrate. We went to Piccolo Mondo and it was so lovely; it's absolutely beautiful inside. I had this amazing homemade apple pie for dessert.
3.I had a relaxing bubble bath to get rid of all the stress that had built up during my exams. I used my Amandopondo* bubble bar from Lush and it created lovely, soft bubbles which left me feeling much calmer.

4. We finished season 1 of American Horror Story; I can't believe it's taken me this long to watch it! I'm just really excited to watch the Coven series as I love things about witches.
5. More lovely food after Adam's last exam, this time at Las Iguanas. I'd highly recommend it of you live near Glasgow - we had a great meal.
6. Adam and I when we went out at the weekend. I wanted to take lots of photos but unfortunately only took one - it's cute though.

I haven't posted a Week In Photos in ages so I wanted to get back to doing them, especially since it's summer now and I'll (hopefully) be doing more interesting things! I also apologise for posting this so late at night - I was busy all day and have only just got home.

This week was a good one as my stress finally ended (read my post about that here). I was free to do whatever I wanted and that's a lovely feeling when you've just been studying for months. I mostly spent the week relaxing and then went out at the weekend for the first time in ages. Next week, Adam and I are getting into serious planning mode for inter-railing - it's two months until we go! We'll hopefully be booking the trains and hostels so I'll let you know how we get on with that.

Lush Buchanan Street Launch Event

Lush Buchanan Street Launch Event

On Friday I was invited along to the launch night of the brand new Lush store on Buchanan Street in Glasgow. It's just across the street from the old store but it's much bigger and it looks lovely. There's tons of reclaimed wood and the layout makes it easy to have a good browse and try out some products.

Lush Soap

There was lots going on on the night, such as a multi-sensory gorilla perfume experience, a preview of the "Comforter" spa treatment and even the chance to make your own bubble bar! I didn't get to make one unfortunately as it was so busy, but it looked like fun. There was also plenty of Prosecco available and a vegan cake which was really nice!

Lush Buchanan Street Store Spa Fruit Tea

All the staff were absolutely wonderful, as always. It was great to talk to people who clearly love their job and are enthusiastic about the products. Maddie and Sam told me all about the new self-preserving skincare products and they were super sweet! Everyone was eager to have a chat and I learned a lot about the new Lush products from them. If you're not sure what product to pick, don't hesitate to ask the staff because they'll direct you to the best thing for your skin/hair etc.

Lush Face Masks

Lush very kindly gave us goodie bags and I was so excited to see Dream Cream in there. It's their best-selling product and I've been wanting to try it for ages. If you'd like to see a review of it, just let me know in the comments. There was also the Amandopondo bubble bar which I used yesterday and it was lovely. It has a rose scent and made lots of soft, moisturising bubbles in my bath. I'll update you when I've used the other products too.

Lush Soap Bubble Bar Bath Bombs

I'll definitely be going back into the store soon to pick up some of the new products and chat to the lovely girls again. If you're in Glasgow, make sure you pop in to have a look as the store is very impressive and you'll come out with some great products!

And so Summer begins...

Today is an exciting day because it's the start of my summer! I had my last exam this morning which went fairly well, and now I'm getting ready to go out for dinner with Adam to celebrate. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders as I've been so stressed out recently and I've just been studying constantly. I'm glad that I'm now free to do whatever I want with my days and I can get back to doing all the things I enjoy.

One of those things is this blog - I know the posting schedule has been a bit all over the place but now I have plenty of time to get lots of posts done. One of my main aims is to do a lot more OOTDs because I rarely post them. Adam has agreed to be my photographer and we're going to look for some nice locations to take photos in, so keep an eye out for those! I definitely want to start doing my Week In Photos again too - I just haven't done them recently because all I was doing was studying everyday!

Tomorrow I'm going to have a lovely relaxing bath with my favourite Lush products to de-stress and I can't wait! I went along to the launch of their new Buchanan Street store on Friday so I'll have a post up about that in the next few days.

This was just a little catch up and a way to let you all know what's going on, sorry if I rambled! Why don't you tell me your summer plans in the comments? I'd love to hear them! And if you had exams, how did they go? I'm really looking forward to putting all my effort back into my blog and I hope you like what I've got planned.

Film Friday | Rock of Ages Soundtrack

I thought that throughout my Film Friday series I'd have a look at films with really great soundtracks, and the first one I'm talking about is Rock of Ages. I'm going to admit that I haven't actually seen the film but I'd much rather see the musical anyway. The thought of Tom Cruise playing a rock star makes me feel really uncomfortable too ha!

Another point to note here is that I'm talking about the original versions of the songs, not the versions sang by the actors (I don't even want to hear Cruise singing Paradise City).

If you're a fan of 80's rock and hair metal-type stuff, you'll love this. For me, these are the perfect songs to get me ready for a night out as they're such feel-good songs that you have to sing along to.

The soundtrack has total classics like Here I Go Again (Whitesnake), We Built This City (Starship), Can't Fight This Feeling (REO Speedwagon) and my personal favourite Pour Some Sugar On Me (got to love a bit of Def Leppard!)

If you haven't listened to any of these songs, please give them a try because I can guarantee you'll actually know most of them and they're all so catchy. I've made a spotify playlist of my favourite songs from the soundtrack which you can listen to below.

What do you think of the soundtrack? And what's your favourite movie soundtrack?

Pinterest | Share Your Links!

I've had Pinterest for a little while but I've only recently started to use it properly. I'm still not 100% used to it but I'm looking for more people to follow. You can take a look at my boards here to see the kind of thing I like and if you know of a user who posts similar things, please let me know in the comments. Of course you can leave your own link too!

I'm particularly looking for fashion boards similar to mine that I can use for everyday inspiration so if you know of any please do let me know!

Also, just a quick note to apologise for the lack of posts - my exams are this week so I'm really busy, and stressed! My blog will be back to normal after Monday.

April Hair & Beauty Favourites

Better late than never with this I guess! My exams are in less than two weeks so if my posts are a bit sporadic until then I do apologise. May means summer is almost here though so that's really exciting! Here are my favourites from last month.

L'Oreal Studio Line #TXT Volume Spray
You've probably heard of this already and I've actually had it since Christmas but I've really been loving it this month. It's a dry texturising and volumising spray which is perfect if you're after the bed-head look. I'm currently growing out my fringe (nightmare!) and am trying to get it into a side parting and I've found that this is great for adding enough texture to my fringe to keep it to the sides. It's also great for volume so I totally understand why everyone loves this so much!

Schwarzkopf got2b Oil-licious
I use this on the ends of my hair before I dry it and I also take a bit through the lengths of it. It stops the ends from being so dry and helps tame flyaways too. If I'm wearing my hair straight (which isn't often) I'll use a tiny bit of this on dry hair after straightening it to give it a more sleek look and it works really well.

VO5 Heat Protect Spray
This heat protect spray protects up to 230 degrees which is more than most others I've seen. The pump means the spray is evenly distributed throughout the hair and it's not too wet and sticky like my last one was. It smells really nice too so that's a bonus!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Oil
I LOVE this product. My skin got really bad in March so I bought a few new skincare products to try and make it better. I used this for the whole of April and my skin has greatly improved. It's very dry so an oil is perfect for it and stops it from going flaky. I also started using the moisturiser from the same range and it's fatastic.

Sally Hansen Double Duty
This can be used as both a base coat and a top coat for nails which is great as it saves you from spending more money on two different products. I've found that it really helps to keep my nail polish on for longer so this has become my staple nail product.

Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in Elusive
This product was on my wishlist for a long time as matte lips are my favourite and I finally purchased it last month. It's a perfect everyday shade as it's not too dramatic. It does come out a little brighter on my lips than I've seen it on other people, so I just dab a little bit on and rub it in with my finger like I would with a normal lip balm and it gives a lovely soft, subtle colour.

What were your favourite products this month?
