Makeup Revolution Haul

I know I'm probably the last person to get in on this but last week I finally made my first Makeup Revolution order. I've heard so many great things about their products and I haven't really tried any new makeup in a while so I thought I should see what all the fuss was about. The brand tend to create "dupes" for more expensive products so it's a great way to save some money. I've only used each of the products a few times so I can't give an in-depth review yet, but here are my first impressions:

Makeup Revolution Naked Chocolate Palette

I'll start off by saying that I hate the packaging of this palette - it's so ugly! However the product itself is great! I'm guessing it's a kind of dupe for the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette but at £7.99 it's much cheaper. The shades look beautiful - all neutrals with a mix of matte and shimmer. There are a lot of shades here that aren't just your run-of-the-mill neutral shade - they're all a little bit different to what you'd normally find so I really love this palette. The eyeshadows themselves are very pigmented and last well throughout the day so this is definitely a winner!

Makeup Revolution Focus + Fix Eye Primer

Since my beloved Gosh eye primer was discontinued, I've been on the hunt for a good replacement. This comes in the form of a wand to apply the product and there are several formulations but I went for the original. I've used this a few times and my eyeshadow definitely seems to stay on well throughout the day so I'm very impressed.

Makeup Revolution Ultra Brow Darkest Swatch

I was so excited to use this product but unfortunately I ordered the wrong shade. I went with "darkest" but didn't realise it would be completely black! I know that makes sense but the shade lighter than this would be far too light for me (I checked swatches) so, sadly, I don't think I'll be able to try this product at all. Instead of letting it go to waste though, I think I could maybe use it as an eyeliner so I'll see how I get on with that.

Makeup Revolution Ultra Brightening Contour Kit Ultra Fair

This reminds me of the Sleek contour kit but I have to say I much prefer this one. I swatched the Sleek one in the summer and none of the shades were suitable for me but this kit in "Ultra Fair" is perfect. It has a bronzer which is matte and not orange at all. I really struggle with bronzers but I tried this once and it seemed great. The blush is beautiful - rosy pink with golden shimmer. It is very shimmery though and I just don't think that suits my skin very well. I can definitely still use it because I love the colour but it's probably just a bit too shimmery for my liking. The highlighter is a gorgeous champagne kind of colour and it looks lovely on the skin. It catches the light beautifully and I really love it.

Makeup Revolution Radiant Light Highlighter Breathe

This is obviously supposed to be a dupe for the Hourglass highlighters which I have been desperate to try for so long but I just can't justify that kind of money. This is a total bargain at £5. I got the shade "Breathe" and it is beautiful however I don't find it to be as pigmented as the highlighter from the contour kit. If it's just a really subtle glow you're going for then this is perfect. If you want something a bit more high-impact, go with the contour kit.

Makeup Revolution Pro Fixing Spray

I've been using the NYX setting spray for ages now but it ran out last week so I thought I'd give this one a try. I've only used it a few times but so far I prefer the NYX one. This spray still works to an extent but I don't feel that it keeps my makeup in place for as long as the NYX one. I'm happy to use this for the time being though because it's still a nice product.

Overall I'm pretty impressed with my first Makeup Revolution order and I'm sure I'll be ordering more from them in the future. They've just brought out a range of brushes and I have my eye on a few of them! My favourite item from this order is definitely the Naked Chocolate palette - I'd highly recommend it! If you'd like to see a more in-depth review of any of these products once I have used them a bit more then just let me know in the comments.

What's your favourite Makeup Revolution product?

  1. I only discovered makeup rev a few months ago and think they are amazing, such cheap prices but great quality! The contour kit looks fab, i love their brow kits and eye palettes the most :) xx

  2. I love the sound of the bronzer in the contour kit, I struggle to find any that are light enough for me! I've only just started trying Makeup Rev but I've been impressed so far, they have some lovely products :) xx
