FEBRUARY RECAP

This is the first in my Monthly Recaps series and I think it'll be a good way of doing a little life update each month, as well as talking about products, TV shows, books etc that I've been enjoying. February was mostly about uni work so although it wasn't the most interesting of months, there were still a few things of note.

I got my new camera, the Sony A5100, and I absolutely love it. I had quite a hassle with it because I ordered one from eBay and after two and a half weeks I still hadn't received it. The seller was extremely unhelpful which prompted several angry messages from me then I finally cancelled the order. In the end, I bought it from Amazon at 11:55pm on a Tuesday and it arrived at 6pm on the Wednesday. Amazon know how it's done.

Glasgow Winter Gardens People's Palace

Unfortunately, I've not had many opportunities to use the camera just yet, but Adam and I did have a nice stroll around the Winter Gardens at the People's Palace so I took some photos there.

The Haunting of Hill House Shirley Jackson

The book I read this month was Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House. I hadn't heard of it before but it's actually very well-respected and Stephen King cited it as "one of the two best horrors of the 20th century". It was really interesting because no final explanation was given for any of the mysterious goings-on at Hill House - there were multiple possibilities and it's left to the reader to decide which they agree with. It was written in a style I've never really experienced before but which I really enjoyed, so I'd definitely recommend it to any horror lovers.

On Netflix this month, Adam and I watched Narcos which is about Pablo Escobar. It was really well made and a very interesting story so give it a go if you're looking for a good drama. I've obviously been watching Pretty Little Liars too, and although this season isn't amazing, I still enjoy watching it. Can they stop with "Spaleb" though? I am not on board with that.

The 1975 The Sound

In terms of music, February was all about The 1975. Their new album only came out on Friday but they released a good few songs before that so they're all I've been listening to. I've had The Sound on repeat and I'm still not sick of it. Look out for a full review of the album in the coming week.

What did you get up to this month?
